SNOW POLICY - Once Kiki and Ledra have determined that the shop will be closed for the day or closing
early because of the snow, Kiki will be posting a message on the Quilt and Sewing Center website. Please

Mid- Atlantic Quilt Show Bus Trip
Hampton Roads Convention Center
Greater Chesapeake Bay/Williamsburg Area, just off I-64, Exit 263
Show hours: 10am – 6pm
Friday, February 24, 2012 – we will start boarding the bus at 6:45am, departing promptly at 7:00am, returning
approximately 9:30pm depending on traffic.
$60.00 (includes transportation and entrance into the Show)
Please join us for an enjoyable ride to the quilt show. We will be cruising in a Blue Ridge Coach bus with our
wonderful driver Kurt. Enjoy chatting with your fellow quilters and plan out your shopping extravaganza. We
will be playing some games and having a great time. Please call the shop to book your reservations. Space is

Penni Domikis Trunk Show/Book Signing
Do you have too many scraps from years of saving and don’t know what to do with them? Frustrated with all
the pre-cutting and pressing of your scraps to make the perfect scrap quilt? Tired of purchasing tons of fabric
to make a planned “scrappy looking” quilt... only to throw half of it into your every growing scrap basket?
Penni Domikis of Cabin in the Woods Quilters is going to show you how to get in your sewing room and just
start sewing your ACTUAL scraps with projects from her book, All Scrapped Out! Grab some scraps, throw
caution to the wind and finally start that fabulous project. Reduce that basket of clutter and recycle it into
something radiant. Be prepared to be inspired to make your own masterpiece of memories. Penni will be here
with her trunk show and books to sign.

Community Service Project
To benefit the Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center NICU and Surgical Services units – this is an ongoing
project.
Come sew with Claudia on Thursdays during Open Sew 10am-12pm. Bring your sewing machines, cotton
fabrics, cotton batting and cotton thread to create 24” x 24” lap quilts for the NICU unit and 6” x 9” cough
pillows for same day surgery. The throws must be all cotton, no embellishments. The cough pillows can be
made out of any type of fabrics, just make sure they are new and clean.
The first Thursday of each month we will be working on a new block that can be used in the lap quilts. Bring
your supplies and join in the fun!
